Wave at Saturn, July 19th 2013

Tonight Cassini is going to take our photograph from Saturn, and NASA are asking us all to give a big wave for the camera. The portrait session will run from 22:27 to 22:42 BST. You can also take a photo of Saturn at the same time and upload it to the NASA ‘Wave at Saturn’ flickr group.

You can find Saturn in the constellation of Virgo in the southwestern sky at dusk and setting just after midnight. It should be visible before the sky is completely dark. So get out there and give a big wave from all members of Satellite 4. Don’t forget to say ‘Cheese’!

Hotel Bookings

Hotel bookings opened on Wednesday 1st May and just over 100 rooms have now been booked, but there are still plenty left.

The main convention hotel is the Crowne Plaza, where the programme will take place. The primary overflow hotels are the Campanile and the Hilton Garden Plaza, both just a few hundred yards distant. Between these, Satellite 4 currently holds an allocation of over 300 bedrooms.

We have also negotiated a convention room rate at the Marriott, specially for the benefit of members who would prefer to stay off-site, within easy walking distance of the city centre.
